It seems that Queensland no longer holds the national title when it comes to interstate migration. According to data released by Property Observer, more and more people are coming to Victoria particularly for office relocation. Based on annual net migration figures, net interstate migration into Victoria is currently at a record high with approximately 2,468 people moving to the state from other parts of the country.
Property Observer, which is one of the most popular sources of independent news and information for Australian property investors, revealed that migrants from New South Wales are the most “substantial” interstate contributors to the growing Victorian population. Arrivals from the mining states also helped Victoria take away the title from Queensland, which has fallen to second place since the third quarter of 2013. During the first quarter of the current year, Queensland attracted some 5,772 interstate migrants. The figure is only slightly higher than the state’s previous all-time low of 5,384 net interstate migrants recorded in 2010.
Experts attributed Victoria’s steadily growing population to its strong economy. According to reports, Victoria’s economy grew steadily in 2013 and 2014 despite challenging conditions. Treasurer Michael O’Brien said the state even has a budget surplus of $2 billion and employment in Victoria has grown modestly over the last couple of years.
Western Australia, on the other hand, remains the “fastest growing state” in the nation with an annual population growth of 2.5%. Although only 256 people chose to relocate to WA during the first quarter of the year, Property Observer said the state is still attracting a positive net interstate migration rate and this trend is expected to continue in the coming years.
Meanwhile, if you’re planning to relocate to Victoria or to simply move to another neighbourhood in your home state, always make sure that you’re hiring the best removalists to help you with the move. With the assistance of professional removalists, you can make your office or home relocations a piece of cake. Not only is it convenient, you can save a great deal of time and money, too.
But before you settle for a specific removals company, see to it that you have done a thorough research. Take note that not all companies that offer warehouse, office or library relocation are created equal. By doing your research, you can easily identify the removalists that are worth your time and money. In addition, you can prevent yourself from being victimised by bad moving companies.
